Ngoc Lan – Teaser Musique Large Party

Born in Switzerland, but originally from Vietnam, Ngoc Lan has always had a strong relationship with music. At the early age of 9, she started to play piano and took opera lessons at the Conservatory of Music. These classical studies have set the foot for her interest in different styles of music and after the Conservatory, Ngoc Lan worked with jazz and rock at the BBM 74 School.
In 2002, she moved to New York City for 6 months and had the opportunity to work for the hip hop label Rawkus Entertainment (well known through Mos Def, Hi Tek, Pharoahe Monch, Talib Kweli, Big L, …) as a Media Relations Assistant where she helped promoting the compilation “Soundbombing 3″. This experience in the heart of the US hip hop music industry was something unique. She could also fulfil her passion for black music while singing for The International Gospel Choir in Harlem, NY.
Back from NYC to Switzerland, she collaborated with Marco Da Mata, a minimal, deep house dj and producer, as a vocal artist. Since 2004, she specialised into deejaying. Because of her diverse musical background, Ngoc Lan likes spinning styles as different as hip hop or deep house. Her particular musical interest goes as well to soul, funk, boogie, brokenbeat, nu-soul, jazz and many more.
Today, she is a member of the soulful crew, Food for ya Soul based in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is a combined team of dj’s, producers and graffers who have been part of the hip hop movement for more than 10 years. They have released 3 compilations where one can discover fantastic tunes, a trip back to the 70’s, a real treasure for the dedicated soul music lover.
